Manchester United as named there Champions league squad and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been included in the squad for the UEFA Champions League.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Man United from PSG last year on a free transfer on a 1 year contract. He went on to score 28 goals and assist a further nine in his first season at the Old Trafford. However, Ibrahimovic suffered a severe knee injury in a late-season Europa League match, ruling him out of action for the rest of the 2016/17 campaign.
Initially, it was thought that Ibrahimovic’s United career had come to an end. At 35-years-old, Ibrahimovic is likely approaching the last few years of his career.
Still, Ibrahimovic seems to have defied all odds as United’s new no. 10 is set to appear in the Champions League this season after he club signed him again for 1 year.
Clubs are allowed to name 25 men to their Champions League ‘A’ squad. Nevertheless, they are also able to select players under the age of 21 to a ‘B list’. In turn, Jose Mourinho’s side did not need to select Marcus Rashford in their formal squad declaration as he is eligible for the latter list.
Youngster James Wilson is also a surprise addition on United’s B list.
