Paul Pogba thanked Manchester United fans after he won Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for his performances in August 2017.
The France international midfielder was the club’s star performer in August, and he contributed two goals and an assist as the Reds began the 2017/18 Premier League campaign with wins over West Ham United, Swansea City and Leicester City.
It also marks his second successive Player of the Month win, as he also claimed the accolade in May for his efforts in the back end of last season.
In an interview with MUTV, the 24-year-old was keen to pay homage to the fans after picking up his award, saying: “I’m just very happy and would like to say thanks to the fans who voted for me last month.
“It has been great for me and great for the team,” he added. “Hopefully we are going to carry on like that. The season is very long and I need to hopefully keep on this level to help the team.”
Meanwhile, it was revealed earlier this week that shirts with Pogba’s name on outsold every other player in the Premier League.
“That obviously makes me happy and makes me feel very proud,” he said. “It is something everyone wants to do, when you see the fans get behind you, it’s what all the players need. Now, we have to respond on the pitch and keep giving them this happiness back.”
