Newcastle united striker Aleksandar Mitrović has been served a three-match suspension after he admitted an FA charge of violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty.
Mitrović was involved in an incident with West Ham United’s Manuel Lanzini in the 80th minute of the Magpies’ 3-0 win on Saturday 26 August.
The misconduct was not seen by the match officials at the time but caught on video.
Mitrovic started last season serving a long ban for a late tackle on Kyle Walker in the 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in May 2016. Now again just 3 matches in, he has picked up another ban. Mitrovic will be available to play against Liverpool in October.
