Mark Hughes says he hopes to add more signings before the end of the transfer window, although would be content to work with the current squad at his disposal.
Stock city have already signed Darren Fletcher, Joshua Tymon, Kurt Zouma, Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bruno Martins Indi and Jese during the current transfer window and head into the last few days of business looking to bring further players to the Club.
Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against West Bromwich Albion, Mark Hughes said although he is hopeful of adding more quality to the squad, but admitted nothing is certain.
“We may well make further signings before the end of the window, although you can never be overly confident until they eventually happen and the lad has the shirt on his back because things can change very quickly,” he said.
“We are still looking at possibilities, although I wouldn’t say that yes we are certain of signing other players, but we remain hopeful.
“I think we are in a good place at the moment and as I said prior to the Arsenal game, the key to the window is to be stronger at the end of it than when you started, which I feel we are.
“If we don’t get any more over the line then I still feel we are stronger than at the beginning of the window.
“There’s another week to go and still opportunities that we will keep pursuing though, so hopefully we can get a couple over the line.”
Mark Hughes also hinted that whilst players may still arrive, there could well be departures before the window closes on Thursday.
“Players may possibly leave, although sometimes players leaving can be more problematic than bringing them in, so we will have to wait and see,” he added.
“There’s a little bit of interest in number of our players and that might progress, but those deals will probably happen late in the window I would think.”
