Manchester United Player Ratings against leceister

Manchester United

David de Gea – 7

Kept steadily and showed great composure towards the end of the first-half, had little to do but stayed alert to save well from Mahrez’s low shot and King’s late effort.

Antonio Valencia – 7

Played right-back by name only. Valencia did not hold back at getting forward and linked up well with his teammates.

Phil Jones – 8

His good form continued with an assured performance against Jamie Vardy. Also showed adventure with the odd surge forward, Strong in the air throughout.

Eric Bailly – 8

His flawless form goes on. Seems to dominate just about every striker he comes up against these days and maybe the best centre-back in the league, partnership with Jones strengthening with each passing game.

Daley Blind – 6

Delivered decisively for the opener at Swansea but his performance reiterated Mourinho’s need for a quality wing-back.

Nemanja Matic – 7

The Serb kept things ticking along well in midfield and generally benefited Paul Pogba again.

Paul Pogba – 7

A constant threat with numerous dangerous shots from outside the area. Kept United’s midfield ticking over all game long with his passing and movement.

Juan Mata – 6

Rightly had a goal chalked off for offside, which would have been his just rewards for an enterprising first 45 minutes.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 6
Provided glimpses of class but struggled to create a decisive opening during United’s best attacking periods. Leceister players never game him time on the ball

Anthony Martial – 6

Played fairly well on his first start in the Premier League this season. Very direct in his running. Looks more confident as a player.

Romelu Lukaku – 6

Showed formidable resilience up against two physical centre halves in Wes Morgan and Harry Maguire had his penalty saved. Not his best of games.

Subs

Marcus Rashford – 8
Finished instinctively to get his first goal.

Marouane Fellaini – 7
Killed the game off with his goal

Jesse Lingard – 7
First Assist of this season for him
