Premier League clubs vote to shut summer transfer window early

English Premier league Week 5 will kick off with AFC Bournemouth hosting Brighton & Hove Albion at the Dean Court stadium on Friday by 20:00pm. This week will continue from where it stopped from Week 4, with mouth watering clashes between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stanford Bridge.

Manchester United will also welcome the return of there former club captain back to Old Trafford who returned back to Everton this transfer window, and has two goals already this season. We take a deep look into all the Premier League week 5 fixtures.

AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Kick Off: Friday 15th, 20:00

Brighton beat West Bromwich Albion last Saturday to move onto four points, while Bournemouth have gone down to four defeats out of four. This is the first meeting between these two coastal clubs since April 2015, but there won’t be a long wait until the next match, as they face each other again in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Bournemouth sits at the bottom of the table, while Brighton sits on the 14th position of the Premier league table.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Kick off: Saturday 16th, 12:30

Crystal Palace sacked Frank de Boer after suffering four defeats in a row, with no win, they sit, second to bottom on the EPL Table. Roy Hodgson was appointed as the new Manager of Crystal Palace and he has the task of lifting the team from the bottom.

Huddersfield’s unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign came to an end with a 2-0 defeat away at West Ham. Leicester lost 3 of their four games so far, while winning the other. But there is little to panic as those defeats came against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester united. Meanwhile, the lone win came at home against the newly promoted Brighton. They sit currently on the 17th position, but am sure not for long.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can bounce back from last weekend’s devastating 5 – 0 loss at Manchester City, after they followed that up with a frustrating 2-2 Champions League draw against Sevilla in midweek. The return of Philippe Coutinho to the Reds’ line-up could be also be the difference to push for the win.
Sadio Mane’s red card appeal was also rejected, and he will surely be missed.

Burnley come into this one the fresher of the two sides, with no midweek matches. They are also coming from the back of a 1 – nil over Crystal Palace and they sit on the 7th position of the table, 2 positions ahead of liverpool.

Newcastle United vs Stoke City

Newcastle United are enjoying a new found confidence after earning back-to-back wins to put an end to their losing start to the season. They defeated West Ham and Swansea without conceding. They will be hoping to make it three wins on the spin.

Meantime, Stoke City are coming on the back of a morale boosting 2-2 draw at home against Manchester United. The team that narrowly lost to Everton on Week 1 are unbeaten three games since then, with a priceless 1-0 win against the Gunners to follow by stalemates against West Brom and Manchester United.

Marco Silva’s side are unbeaten in the League this season as they sit fourth on the EPL Table after four games. Watford recruited big in the summer transfer window to boaster there team chances of finishing in the top six this season.

Pep Guardiola’s City have been in imperious form of late, scoring nine goals in two matches with a 5-0 League win against against Liverpool followed up with a 4-0 Champions League victory at Feyenoord.

A win would send City top – at least until Manchester United play on Sunday – but Silva’s high-flying Hornets will provide a stern challenge at Vicarage Road.

Fresh on the back of seemingly putting an end to their Wembley woes, Tottenham Hotspur welcome Swansea City to the national stadium in the Premier League. Spurs will hope to continue their momentum at Wembley after beating Borrusia Dortmund 3 – 1 in their first Champions league match, and also defeated Everton on the road by 3 – 0 nil in the premier league.

Tottenham will be missing Erik Lamela, Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou through injury.

Swansea will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Newcastle last week. Swansea will be without injured quartet Kyle Bartley, Nathan Dyer, Seung-Yeung Ki and Leon Britten.

Swansea sits on the 15th position of the table, while Tottenham are 5th on the log.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

This game is the star match for the weekend, a clash of Heavy weights. Chelsea are back to their devastating form they showed last season, after loosing there first game at home to Burnley, they have gone on to win their next 3 games, beating Tottenham on the road. During the week they also thrashed visiting Qarabag FK by 6 – 0 nil.
Chelsea sits on the 3rd position of the table.

Arsenal have suffered 2 defeats in this season, loosing at home to Stoke city 1 – 0, and suffering humiliating defeat in the hands of Liverpool. They have since turned a new leaf winning there last 2 matches, against Bournemouth and FC Cologne in their first European league match.
Arsenal sits on the 11th position of the table.

Chelsea vs Arsenal matches are never cut and dry matches that a winner can easily be predicted, last season Chelsea lost to Arsenal in the FA cup final, where everyone expected Arsenal to loose, also they defeated Chelsea in the Community shield on penalties. Going on current form, Chelsea will likely edge this one.

Manchester United vs Everton
Kick off: Sunday 17th, 16:00

Manchester United vs Everton will be the final game to wrap up Premier League Week 5, but wont be a boring match. Manchester United will welcome Wayne Rooney back to Old Trafford, and he will hope to scored against his old employers, Romelu Lukaku who went the opposite direction also would be looking to put one or more past his old team.

Manchester United 100% win start was halted by Stoke City when they were held to a 2 – 2 draw, but they returned to the Champions league this mid week with a comfortable win over Basel, winning by 3 – nil. Paul Pogba suffered an hamstring injury during the match in which will likely keep him till away for 6weeks, when he posted a picture of himself on crutches on his Instagram page.

But more than capable replacement in the likes of Fellani, who won man of the match during the mid week Champions league game, Herrera and Club captain Carrick can step in to fill the void.

Everton started the season well, winning at Stoke city, Wayne Rooney grabbing a goal, held Manchester City to a draw on the road, but after then have lost there 3 matches, both to Chelsea and Tottenham. They also performed badly against Atlanta loosing 3 – 0 in Italy.

They will want to correct this and try to get something from this game, a draw will be seen as a positive result at Old Trafford.

Manchester United currently sit on top of the table with 10points, but may see there position dropped down before they play their game, while Everton sit on the 16th position on the table.
